We had 26 ducks race in six (6) total heats before the always exciting final race. The Grand Champion prize this year goes to very plucky, "All Alone at the Finish Line." All Alone was a heat winner last year.
We generated enough money to pay for all expenses and had $88 excess which we unanimously voted to donate to Renewal House in Canton, add the 50/50 to that for an even $100 donation.
$52.00 in donations generated by the raffle of two hats, donated by Jeanne and Sandi, were earmarked to go to the new Potsdam Community Dog Park project which is connected to the Potsdam Humane Society.
The new dog park will allow the adoptable dogs to run off leash and get some exercise and socialization. It will also be free and open to public once it is finished later this Summer.
About the video: Each year I try to tell the story of the derby with photos and videos. Some of the content is mine (except for last year) and some comes from friends. In this case, I included a number of photos from VS. Thanks, honey!
It isn't easy to tell the same story differently each year. I hope you enjoy this year's version.
